It's been raining since yesterday , the monsoon season is still here to stay .
Two more days before the school starts and Mimi is so very much excited to be at school this Sunday . Everything is ready from uniform, books, stationery and drinking bottle . All her belongings including those tiny colour pencils and eraser have to be marked with her initial . I put MIM1 for Mimi a year 1 student . The school starts a new ruling that all students must mark their initial on all items that belong to them. I use black marker pen to mark her light colour items such as her baju kurung and tudung and I use white liquid paper for her kain sarong and socks . Can't wait to send her off to school and see her seat in class .She never buys things on her own. These past few days have been " buy and sell " games time. She'll buy 'kuih karipap' and show me which coins are to be paid to the seller . Then she'll buy 'nasi lemak' and again show me how to pay for it . Even though the school provides food for recess and lunch but the canteen is also selling food during recess. Hopefully she'll be able to buy food on her own, there goes my baby, woww, she's grown up so fast .
Yesterday mimi and I went to Kerteh for some business and during lunch we had a chance to meet Maklang and Mulan at Mulan's house. At first we planned to have our lunch at MM but Mulan invited us to have lunch at her place since it was raining all morning yesterday. First time at Mulan's big house . Met maklang and had nasi kukus for lunch ( this one is super clean one ......reminds me of my n3 on nasi kukus kucing ) . Maklang spent her lunch break with us and Mulan with her awet muda smile really made the wet gloomy day felt warm and jubilant . We met each other for 80 minutes and Alhamdulillah it was a very pleasant meeting .
Maklang went back to her office and I came back to Kemaman and dropped by Amirah's house ( my anak angkat ) who'll be going back to Sabah today . She's teaching in Tenom , Sabah . We had lots of fun laughing when she told me lots of funny stories that she encountered while teaching there , a small school where she is the only teacher from the Peninsular , once in a while dogs also come to class to learn and kangkung is the number one vegetable sold there. No burger or goreng pisang stalls there , most shops are closed at 4pm daily. Anyhow, she loves living there because all the people near her place treat her very well. Way to go teacher /ustazah Amirah. See you in March, InsyaAllah.
I reached home at 5 pm and Izzat was chatting with his friends who moved to Qatar 2 months ago and from the webcam I could see those boys were enjoying themselves in the foreign land . I'm so happy for them .
That's my first day of 2009 ... a wet day and yet lots had been done ..Alhamdulillah.
